Tarnishing
Overtime if jewelry is not properly cared for it has the possibility of naturally tarnishing. Also stainless steel tarnish resistant jewelry has the ability to tarnish if not cared for. Contact with household chemicals, perspiration, rubber, chlorinated water, or any substances which contain sulfur will cause corrosion and tarnish. So it’s a good idea to remove jewelry when doing household chores. Lotions, cosmetics, hair products, and perfumes are also “enemies” and will accelerate tarnishing. Always make sure putting your jewelry on is your final step when getting ready for your FINAL TOUCH.
Care and Storage
As exposure to air tarnishes it over time, store jewelry in a small bag with preventative measure. Please be sure you don’t store multiple jewelry pieces in the same bag to avoid scratching each other.
Polishing
When polishing, you can use a cloth cleaner. Also, clean jewelry in a long back-and-forth motions that mirror the grain of the jewelry. Do not rub in circles, as this will magnify any tiny scratches. Also, change to a different section of your cloth frequently to avoid placing tarnish back on the silver. You can use a Q-tip to get into small, detailed areas.
